The Vikings are alive in Stockholm!
Discover Ragnfrids Saga dark ride at Vikingaliv!
Project: Ragnfrids Saga
Client: Vikingaliv Stockholm
Travel back in time to the age of the Vikings in the new attraction in Djurgården, Stockholm: Vikingaliv. In the sensational attraction ‘Ragnfrids Saga’, guests make their way through the mythical landscapes that the Vikings called home many centuries ago. There, old lady Ragnfrid will tell you the story of the most intense moments in her and her husband Harald’s life.
During this daring voyage, the guests will come face-to-face with impressive and dramatic images of Viking history. This epic tale of family and honor will be told through big-scale dioramas with beautiful landscapes and detailed miniature human figures, all built to scale and in perspective! P&P Projects is responsible for the engineering, production and installation of all show sets, special effects and figures. “Vikingaliv is a unique project with the great challenge to be historically correct as well as creating unique dioramas” says Philipp van Stratum, Creative Director of P&P Projects. ETF Ride Systems is responsible for the ride technology. Their trackless Multi Mover system provides the perfect vehicle for this daring adventure.
This project is led by an experienced team that have established similar ventures in Djurgården and the rest of Sweden. Ulf Larsson is CEO and has been working as an executive in the tourism industry for over 25 years. To assure historical accuracy, the story, artistic expression and scenography has been created in collaboration with the well-known Swedish professor of history Dick Harrison. P&P Projects has had the pleasure to work in close collaboration with this Swedish team.
Vikingaliv was officially opened on Friday the 28th of April 2017 by Sweden’s royal family: his highness King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia Sommerlath.
