Opening of the Entdeckershaus at the Sparkassen-Erlebniswelt of Duisburg Zoo!
P&P projects Bv designed and build the new discovery house (Entdeckershaus) at the Erlebniswelt at Duisburg Zoo, Germany. The house has a variety live animals and insects that have taken use of the house and that can be found in many of today’s homes. The house is a mix of a laboratory and living quarters, with a kitchen area and a bed.
Find all the magnifying glass icons and discover what kind of creepy crawlies live in our house, or we bring during our travels (in the early days of travel to the present time)
The laboratory is also a presentation area where specialist animal keepers will present their insects and animals in terrariums for an up-close encounter with nature’s magnificent creatures.
P&P projects designed and build all furniture exhibits and animal habitats for the zoo. The house is located in the new pet zoo area at the Duisburg zoo and is open to visitors on Friday the 8th of July 2011.

P&P Projects on the fast track
Last week Walibi Holland had a re-launch of the popular Vekoma boomerang coaster. P&P Projects was responsible for the restyling design and build of this coaster now called “the speed of sound”.
With its total new rebranding it is now an up to date rollercoaster with the parks icon in a major role of sound composer.
The basic storyline is experimental propulsion by sound and can the train outrun the speed of sound. The main station is themed the parks character Haaz and his crazy sound machine.
With the new music score built in the train and the covered launch tunnel the speed of sound is ready for the future!
P&P projects Phillip van Stratum mentioned that there were other recent openings such as the Roshen experience in the Ukraine, Legoland ride Dallas and Madame Tussauds in Vienna.

Roshen Children Visitor Center in Vinnitsa (Ukraine)
In 2010 P&P Project Development and P&P Projects have designed and build an 800 square meter visitor center for Roshen Confectionery.
P&P Project Development was responsible for the concept and the design of the center. The customer wanted a grouped visitor flow for which we designed a room by room experience. The children have to play games, solve puzzles and answer questions in order to get a four letter code which gives them access to the next room by entering this code into a code pad. In total 1 preshow with animatronic robot, 13 games and 1 4D movie will take the children through 6 rooms to the final vault door after which they receive their sweet reward for discovering the Roshen Secrets .
P&P Projects was responsible for creation of the interior elements and the game consoles. Since the design was heavily themed, the creation of these parts was really a big added value to the design process. The design left enough room for the creative builders to add their own vision to the project. Both companies are under one roof so a close cooperation was not difficult. Creating all game consoles in a way that they could hold the hardware was not an easy task since it had to be very “user proof” as well.
The project opened in December and is running almost fully automated under a variable show control system. Three guides and one technician are operating the site where 60.000 visitors are expected every year.

P&P grows global footprint
Over the past two years, Dutch leisure giant P&P Projects has been working on several projects around the world.
The group's reputation as a leading provider of solutions for the world theming sector recently helped company to secure two key multi-million dollar contracts at the Nurburgring amusement park, located in the grounds of the iconic German racetrack, and the soon-to-open Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.
P&P is currently finalising the completion of two major attractions at Ferrari World, fitting out major scenic elements and historic replica racing cars
Company founder Philipp van Stratum commented: "It was challenging to replicate full scale and half scale racing cars of the 1950s and 60s with the limited amount of information available. Some of the cars do not even exist anymore."
Attraction passion
Elsewhere, in co-operation with 3DBA, the group recently helped to deliver interactive shooting ride Kingdom Quest to the newly-opened Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester, UK.
P&P's passion for quality has resulted in further high-profile contracts this year. The company has worked on the giant Fairytale Tree animatronic attraction at Efteling park in the Netherlands.
Efteling remains the largest theme park in the Benelux region, and P&P has also been involved in the resort's latest rollercoaster - Joris and the Dragon.
"In co-operation with the Efteling team, we built the fire-spitting, audio animated dragon that emerges 10m out of the water," the company said. "That was specifically a challenge due to the short timeframe and the complexity of hard body shells which have to do complex movements."
"There is more coming up," added marketing manager Ifat Caspi. "Our design subsidiary P&P Project Development has been working with a large eastern European candy company, Roshen, to develop a children's visitor centre near to one of the company's new factories in the Ukraine. P&P Projects is now in full production of that with a deadline of a Christmas opening.
"For the same company we will develop a big visitor centre in Kiev, and we recently started the design phase of this project. This will be the biggest job so far in the company's 20 years of existence."
P&P continues on its recession-bucking trajectory, and Caspi said the group has already started receiving proposals for the 2011 season, along with bigger projects for 2012.

F1 Nürburgring, Ring°Werk
P&P Projects is responsible for all of the theming the scenic works throughout the new theme park Ring°Werk at Nürburgring. Our work included overall scenic reproductions, race simulator decorations, mechanical constructions such as truck units, cabins and reproductions of F1 cars. P&P is also responsible for the team truck, dark ride decorations, the scenic works in both theatres, pit boxes, car replicas, lights effects , platforms, figures of F1 winner at Nürburgring etc.
The Ring°Werk includes among others themed race experience, where the race minded can see and experience different aspects of F1 racing.
P&P had some specific challenges on the Nürbus ride, which is an adventure ride in the Eifel. The truck race consist out of 8 prequalification units, where the main price is a ride in a simulated truck race, where you get strapped into a real truck cabin which is positioned on a motion base.
Last but not least is our work on the scenic elements of the Motor Mania, which is an interactive ride where you try to score points to put together a racing vehicle with driver. Depending on your score it will tell you if you created a superfast formula 1 car or if you have created a slow tractor.
For us in the 20 years we exist, it is the first project about racing cars, and the project itself is unique because it has so many surprising attractions around this theme. It is not the average motor museum you might expect near to this historic racing track.

P&P Projects builds scenery in Europapark newest ride "Iceland".
P&P Projects has commissioned the majority of the scenery in the waiting and launch area of the new coaster in the Iceland theme.
Visitors enter the building and arrive on the start platform where the ride is controlled, from behind a decorated desk, by Europapark staff members. The coaster carts drive slowly through an energy-mining scenery with several animatronics, light- and water effects.
The scenery is completed with canoes, storage rack, hot water and heat converters. The visitors then arrive in the launch scene with energy build-up effects and grumbling launching equipment. An overhead smoke blast finally surprises the visitors who get launched to 100 km/h within 2.5 seconds through again a smoke blast at the exit doors.
